| Gevokizumab

Gevokizumab is an experimental monoclonal antibody with allosteric modulating properties. It binds to interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), a pro-inflammatory cytokine, and down-modulates the cellular signaling events that produce inflammation. IL-1β has been implicated in various diseases such as cardiovascular conditions, lung cancer, and auto-inflammatory diseases. Gevokizumab has been used in trials studying the treatment of acne vulgaris, osteoarthritis, Behcet's uveitis, pyoderma gangrenosum, and other diseases.
